project status

practice CM plans, processes, templates, policies, and procedures
(such as master CM plans, CM project plans, build plans, and
change plans) that are reusable on multiple projects
- Constructing and
training CM staff and developers in the use of CM processes,
tools, and automated software builds
- Facilitating the
proper coordination of Production Change Control and Engineering
Change Control boards
- Designing and
building defined hardware and software development and CM-
approved build processes and environments
- Educating and
enlisting user support and buy-in into how CM can make their work
life easier
- Developing a plan
for clear and concise communication to stakeholders
- Managing projects
using PLC project management methods
- Keeping up-to-date
with projects supported by CM
- Building and
maintaining an integrated documentation and production control
drawing environment

The Configuration
Manager must also be able to communicate the organization’s
structure and operating guidelines for obtaining resources and
beginning new CM supported projects. The ability to communicate
effectively with developers, supplier engagement users, technical
managers, project and program managers and business management is
key.
