Configuration Management
AS9100
Configuration
Management AS9100 – AS9100 is the new aerospace standard
built on
ISO 9001 which adds the additional requirements necessary to address
both civil and military aviation and aerospace needs. Where
Configuration Management comes into this is that AS9100 does contain
a significant number of additional requirements from
AS9000.
Configuration
Management AS9100 – Main new requirements
The main new
requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Process performer
- Configuration
management
- Design and
development management planning

maintainability, safety
- Documentation of
design verification and validation

and validation testing
- Purchasing
- Process Control
- First Article

The reader may ask
what this has to do with ITIL. At the moment, at least until more
information is forthcoming on how the standard describes
Configuration management, the answer will have to wait. For now,
this is simply placed as a courtesy highlighting the possibility
that there may be a structured relationship in the wind.
